Air France set to revitalize economy travel this fall.

Air France is going to debut a new premium cabin starting this fall. The Premium Voyageur will initially service  routes from Paris to New York, Tokyo and Osaka. Then plans are to expand the new feature throughout its entire long-haul network of Airbus A340 and Beoing 777.

The new seats will provide passengers with some room to stretch out. That includes an extra 18″ in width, a deeper recline, and a 4″ wide leather armrest. The French airline plans to replace 50 economy seats with 28 Premium Voyageur seats on its 777-300ER aircraft. Entertainment will include a 10″  TV, with the inflight control box integrated into the seat itself.

Being described by Air France as, “intermediate cabin range”, passengers get the same meals as regular economy, but with some extra perks, such as a bottle of water, noise-reducing headphones, a fluffy feather pillow, a pure woolen blanket and a travel kit. Plus premium economy cabin members receive priority check-in, about a 60-70 lbs baggage allowance, and even priority baggage delivery. What’s more, Air France frequent flyers will get 25%  more miles than a full-fare economy ticket.
