Earlier this month I wrote about Air New Zealand’s latest marketing campaign and how it was quite brilliant. Well apparently not everyone sees the commercial as cute or cutting edge. Instead many kiwi travelers have found them to be rather cheeky. One customer was quoted as saying, “The last thing I want to see when I fly is some fat Air NZ flight attendant’s rear end.” Ouch!
Since the videos hit the internet, they have been extremely popular on sites like YouTube. One of their “bare essentials” videos have been seen by more than 3.5 million viewers! To say that this is the best free press that Air New Zealand has ever received would be a huge understatement.
So are these videos crude? Should they be banned from New Zealand television? Or are some locals just overreacting and need to chill out over some great New Zealand wine? Share your thoughts.
