How to Pitch Me

The Brooklyn Nomad provides travel articles to both educate and entertain travelers looking for information on a destination they are planning to visit or maybe want to learn more about for an upcoming trip.

According to Alexa.com, The Brooklyn Nomad‘s core audience is “childless college educated females under the age of 35.” Hmm.

The Brooklyn Nomad was born on March 1, 2009 and has since grown in readership monthly. Here is a recap of 2011′s unique visitors per month so far:

  • January: 27, 567 (Avg. 889/day)
  • February: 18, 721 (Avg. 668/day)
  • March: 26,828 (Avg. 865/day)
  • April: 18, 474 (Avg. 615/day)
  • May: 20,020 (Avg. 645/day)
  • June: 18,704 (Avg. 623/day)
  • July: 22,212 (Avg. 716/day)
  • August: 21,102 (Avg. 681/day)

As the only writer for the site, with the exception being occasional guest posts, I provide a name many recognize in the travel community as reliable and informed. My work has appeared and has been referenced by such media outlets as the New York Times, Business Insider, AOL Travel, Tree.com, MSNBC, MSN, Huffington Post, Sherman’s Travel, CheapOair and more.

I have been on numerous press trips and always produce detailed articles for not only The Brooklyn Nomad, but to other highly read sites due to my connections within the travel industry.

Press trips I’ll probably enjoy:

  • Europe (Yes all of it.)
  • Big city trips (ex: Chicago, London, Sydney)
  • Tours that include stops at breweries, local cuisine, food truck dining (yum) and decent hotels.
  • I LOVE unique finds and off the beaten path attractions. Much rather hang with locals at a hole in the wall bar than the beautiful people at some posh resort.

Press trips I’ll most likely pass on:

  • Backpacking, extreme sports, winery tours, heavy on museums and ones that include bed and breakfasts along the way.
  • Also highly prefer solo press trips over group press trips. I tend to write way more when the traveling is a personal experience rather than being carted around like cattle from one popular attraction to the next.

You can contact me directly at TheBrooklynNomad(at)gmail.com for any advertising and/or PR inquiries.

If you plan to pitch a product to me for review, please understand that I tend to not do so unless the item seems relevant to my audience.
