John Lennon and Yoko Ono being interviewed by the press during their 1969 "Bed-In" at the Montreal Fairmont to protest the Vietnam War.

The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal is celebrating the 40th anniversary of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s infamous “Bed-In”, which was the couple’s way of protesting the Vietnam War.

The original plan was for the peaceful duo to lodge in New York, but due to a 1968 cannabis conviction the Beatles singer was not allowed in the United States.

Therefore the two hopped a plane and landed in Canada on May 26, 1969 for a week-long stay at the beautiful Fairmont hotel (which yours truly has stayed in before and highly recommends).

All you need is love, and a debit or credit card, to book this great deal.

The package includes:

One nights accommodations.

One cd per room featuring Give Peace A Chance (which John performed on June 1, 1969 in Room 1738).

A Copy of the lyrics to Give Peace A Chance in calligraphy.

Breakfast in bed for two (of course) or a buffet breakfast for two at Le Montrealais restaurant.

This package is available March 1, 2009 to June 21, 2009, subject to availability.

Nice find! Unfortunately I will be in Europe for most of this special. I can still listen to some Lennon though!
