This is a list of my favorite websites dedicated to my favorite subject…travel. The sites below include professional travel companies, independent travel agencies, personal blogs, and much more. Bottom line is that all of them are just as obsessed about the journeys to far away lands as I am. CheapOAir Travel Blog: Provides travel news, information and stories from travel experts. Full of interesting information that will both inspire and help you plan your next trip.
Kayak.com: The best travel search engine on the internet hands down. One quick tip when using Kayak is to click on the airfare they find, because the price may have changed since they posted it. Airlines switch their prices sometimes on a daily basis (even more on certain days of the week). Be flexible and search up to 3 days before and after the dates you choose and pick numerous nearby airlines to ensure the lowest price. Very helpful site.
Travelzoo: The people at this place truly love a deal. They work nonstop all week long searching the net for the best in hotels, airfare, cruises, vacations and more. Plus they even go the extra mile to lock in excluve prices and deals for their readers. Every Wednesday check out Travel Zoo’s Top 20 deals.
Oyster Hotel Reviews: This site gives you a comprehensive preview of the hotels you might stay at. From the beds you’ll sleep in to the bathrooms you’ll use to the food you’ll eat, they got you covered. Their goal is to guide users to the hotels that will best fit their needs. They do this by extensively photographing every place they visit and by writing in-depth reviews based on their firsthand experiences.

Aussie Nomad: Chris is your typical Aussie who loves a beer and a laugh. Burning the suit and packing his career into a backpack he’s setting off to travel and work the world over.

Green Traveler Guides: Researched and written by travel journalists, this site is all over the world’s best green travel. Like us, they believe green travel’s gotta be great travel, too. No flakes or granola here.
ReidOnTravel: This great travel site is run by Robert Reid, a Brooklyn-based travel writer who has updated 21 Lonely Planet guidebooks (including New York City, Central America, Myanmar and Trans-Siberian Railway) and written for publications including The New York Times. In 2007, he created an online guidebook to Vietnam — equivalent to 200 guidebook pages with maps — available on his site. He blogs of his trips, and occasionally of college football.

New York Times Travel: Such a great site! I love the “36 hours in…” articles, restaurant reviews, city spotlights and the daily articles about…well…travel. Check it out for a great read by top writers.
Tripwolf: This is a free online social travel guide. Tripwolf combines travel tips from professional travel writers with a vast collection of travel information, experiences and reviews from a worldwide community of thousands of travelers like you. Take advantage of their trip gurus to get personal travel advice for any city or country.
Tripwolf’s Travel Blog: This site is updated daily by a group of passionate travelers. The blog keeps on top of latest travel trends while bringing a personal twist to each topic.
AirfareWatchdog.com: This site scours the internet for the latest and the lowest in airfare deals. Bookmark it and check it often for some amazing finds.
Nomadic Matt’s Travel Site: It takes a nomad to know a nomad! A self described “twenty-something vagabond”, Matt has been on the road for the last four years exploring the world. His site offers tips, photos, videos and a blog that covers pretty much everything travel related. Definitely check him out!
Yapta.com: Yapta is a travel Website and browser add-on that lets you track flight and now hotel prices as they change and alerts you when the price for a particular flight or hotel drops. It also helps you get a refund or credit from airlines with guaranteed low-price policies.
Travel Wonders Of The World: Mark is a keen traveler. In fact, over the last 25 years, he has traveled to every continent and over 80 countries. His blog contain stories about the most memorable destinations – the places he regards as the travel wonders of the world. He is also a keen photographer, and has taken nearly all the photos you’ll see on his site. Definitely take a look and add it to your favorites!

Travelogged: Offers practical information for a variety of destinations as well as lots of entertaining stories, photos, and videos for those who are just daydreaming about their next vacation. Travelogged does not only cover their own trips, but they also write about other people’s travel adventures too.

You can also read about safari lodges; it even seems they have more emphasis on the more eco-friendly lodges. Definitely worth a read.
Twenty-Something Travel: This is a website about travel for young people. It provides encouragement, information and resources for new travelers. As it is aimed towards young people, the emphasis is always on traveling simply, with a small budget.
