I have been traveling around the beautiful country of Poland since Tuesday morning and I am having a great time. I arrived in Krakow Airport after a pretty great flight on Aer Lingus. I highly recommend the Irish airline for international travel. We had flat screen tv for each seat, plenty of leg room and it looks like they just underwent a major facelift to the interior of my particular plane. Below are just a few pictures taken during my first four days here. Later updates will include pictures from Krakow, Zakopane and more.

- Krakow International Airport. For a major city in Poland, they have a surprisingly small airport. I compared it to the airport in Sacramento, California in size. But it was great to land, grab my bags and be out of the airport in 10 minutes.

- They love their beer in Poland…and I love the beer of Poland. Notice the larger sized glasses of beer. Perfect way to wash down the amazing Polish cuisine.

- View from the terrace of my 1 bedroom apartment in a great pre-war building. I love this picture…except for that damn wire hanging in the way. Still a great view to wake up to each morning.

- Hanging out in the city of Raciborz, Poland. This is one of their outdoor cafes in Rynek (town square). That is my beer by the way. The wife prefers a coffee.

- Perfect day in Raciborz. I love Rynek (town square)!

- This shot was taken at the Speed Way motor bike races in Rybnik, Poland. It attracts a few thousand locals and was a great time. Speed way is one of Poland’s most popular sports. Although the action was fast and furious, I think a few guys show up just to see the cheerleaders that are wearing next to nothing.

- Speed way is 15 rounds of races between 4 bikers of two teams. Rybnik was represented in blue and red racers, while the visiting team wore yellow and white. Each round, whoever comes in first gets 3 points, second place gets 2 points, third place gets 1 point and last place gets no points. In the end, Rybnik came up short and lost by 4 points to the visiting team. But the crowd still left happy. Might have to do with all the beer they enjoyed during the 2 hour event.

- No visit to Poland is complete until they visit and pay their respect to the millions killed in the concentration camps of Auschwitz/Burkenau. A tough place to visit, but definitely worth the trip.

- The many barracks where men, women and children were tortured and killed by the Nazi army.

- A memorial set up for the many that lost their lives via the Nazi army’s firing squad. At this location people were lined up, stripped of their clothes, blindfolded and shot.
