Times are tough and people are hungry. So two of the most delicious cities in the United States are giving travelers and locals a break this summer with some great dining deals.

New York City has just extended the annual Restaurant Week until Labor Day (September 7) at over 250 participating restaurants. What started as a week long discount on lunch and dinner across the Big Apple has turned into almost an entire summer of low-cost cuisines.
As a fellow “Noo Yawka” this is great news for me and my belly. For a three-course prix-fixe meal, lunch will cost you $24.07 and dinner will set you back $35. If you can not make it to New York by early September for this appetizing affair, don’t fret as it also takes place in the winter. For a listing of the restaurants and more details click here.

What’s better than saving cash while dining at a great restaurant in Las Vegas? How about helping end hunger in Southern Nevada. Three Square, which is an amazing food hub that provides food to the less fortunate, is partnering with many of Sin City’s world-famous chefs for Las Vegas Restaurant Week, which takes place August 31 to September 6, 2009. Together they will offer desert diners delicious deals at reduced prices.
A few of the big name restaurants included in this event include Charlie Palmer Steak, Craftsteak, and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill. Prices range from $20.09 to $50.09 for special prix-fixe meals created by each restaurant.
