Cathay Pacific’s New Business Class [PHOTOS]

Recently I was invited to check out Cathay Pacific’s new business class aboard a Boeing 777 to Hong Kong via the Boeing factory in Everett, Washington. Here are some images from the big event and some shots from inside the plane. Enjoy.

Cathay Pacific Boeing 777

First glimpse of the Cathay Pacific Boeing 777 I would be hopping on in less than an hour's time to Hong Kong. Thrilled? Hell yes!

After showing my pass to an angry looking security guard, I was on my way to check out the Boeing 777 I would be flying on later that day. (Note: A Boeing tour blog post coming soon.)

Cathay Pacific Boeing 777 ribbon cutting

About to cut the ribbon to celebrate the all-new Cathay Pacific business class feature. (Actually I did not cut the ribbon. But did take an opportunity to snap a pic in front of it.)

I spent about 12 hours in this seat and can say now it is EXTREMELY relaxing. So much leg room!

The 15" television offers hundreds of movies, music, television shows and games.

Endless TV options

I watched 2 movies, an entire season of Bored to Death, Curb Your Enthusiasm, three episodes of 60 Minutes, 48 Hours Mystery, a few Family Guy and over 100 songs.

Blogger. Father. Part-time Cathay Pacific pilot. Hanging out in the cockpit during the flight was a thrill for this aviation geek.

cathay pacific food

The food in Cathay Pacific business class is superb. Never ate so much at 30,000 feet in the air. (Pictured above: Salad and northwest seafood platter)

More food

More food... (Kung po chicken and egg fried rice with vegetables.)

More food

...and more food... (fruit and cheese platter)

Dessert

...and save room for coffee and dessert (NY cheese cake).

Tired

I came. I flew. I ate. And ate. And ate some more. Time to turn my seat into a bed and catch some zzz's.
