Travel Blog Rewind: What I’ve Been Reading Online (July 27, 2010)

With it being 119 degrees outside every day since TBEX here in New York, I have been hiding inside my Brooklyn abode pumping the air conditioner 24/7 and enjoying many cold adult beverages.

So with more time in front of the glow of my laptop’s screen, I have reading many blogs and stumbled upon a few recently that I really enjoyed. So read them, recycle them and keep them all at room temperature. Enjoy.

Have an interesting blog article you think needs to be featured in an upcoming “Travel Blog Rewind” post? Shoot me an email with the link.

  • Matt Long, who goes by the name LandLopers on Twitter (and guest blogged for me just last week), wrote a hell of a piece discussing how the hospitality management industry is stuck in the stone age and provides “No Respect for the Gay/Lesbian Traveler.” It is a pretty good rant and something that I honestly never thought about, but agree with him 110 percent.
  • My travel tastes seem to have changed a lot in the last year or so. If you were to have asked me 12 months ago if I would like to visit a tropical locale, I would reply with a friendly “hell no.” But lately I have been reading all these blog posts from fellow travelers hopping around tropical locations. One such post that caught my eye recently was from a trip Jodi from Legal Nomads took entitled Scenes from the Dominican Republic’s Northern Coast. ” It is chock full of drool worthy pictures of food, sun, sand and an amazing looking waterfall.

Ok now back to the AC and watching DVRed episodes of the Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Saved by the Bell.

Saved by the Bell, makes me smile to see that makes the DVR…also, my 2 cents…. add Madmen to that list.

    stay adventurous, Craig
